Hi, I’m Kate.

I am an enterprise and higher ed marketing strategist who believes that before strategy, before design, there’s conversation.

Empathy, Evidence, and Connection

I believe marketing works best when it feels like a conversation that invites people in, builds trust, and creates space for connection. Throughout my career I have led teams, partners, and organizations in shaping strategies that not only reach audiences but truly resonate with them.

The results, whether stronger enrollment, broader community support, or more impactful digital experiences, come from listening first and then guiding with clarity, creativity, and care.

Strategic Marketing Leadership

I lead by building trust and creating alignment across boundaries.

At VMI, I built a lean team that united admissions, advancement, athletics, and alumni behind a shared vision.

At W&L, I bridged admissions and institutional marketing to deliver record enrollment.

As president of The Community Table, I guided staff and volunteers through crisis to expand services and secure record grants.

And at Northrop Grumman, I steward enterprise web strategy across 100,000 employees—aligning people and processes so that digital work creates real connection.

Brand Stewardship

I believe the strongest brands are built on stories that connect.

At VMI, I crafted Don’t Do Ordinary, a campaign that drove recruitment, strengthened alumni pride, and fueled a $323.6M capital campaign.

At W&L, I shaped messaging during a time of national reflection, ensuring it was authentic, empathetic, and aligned with evolving identity.

At RARA, I reimagined a nonprofit’s brand to tell its story of compassion in a way that deepened community trust.

Across every sector, my approach to brand stewardship weaves stories into strategies that build belonging and inspire action.

Digital Transformation

From enrollment pivots at Washington and Lee to global SEO strategy at Northrop Grumman, my work has centered on guiding teams through change with clarity and purpose.

At the Marshall Foundation, I led the move from a physical presence to an online-first model; at W&L, I helped enrollment leaders adopt sustainable digital-first practices during the pandemic; and at Northrop, I’ve partnered with global and sector teams to re-architect a massive enterprise site for both human and AI audiences.

Because true digital transformation isn’t about technology, it’s about helping people thrive within it.

Data-Informed Design

Before strategy, there’s listening. I look for the signals behind the stats—the drop-off points, the rage clicks, the places where curiosity fades. Those gaps are where the real work begins.

By introducing new tools, testing assumptions, and adjusting in real time, I turned feedback into action that strengthened trust, improved user journeys, and made digital experiences more human.
